Camp Sabros is a mountain resort in Kapatagan, Digos City, Davao del Sur, known for its ziplines, pine trees, and views of Mount Apo. It is an option for a day trip from Davao City or an overnight mountain getaway, depending on how much time you want to spend there.
On our original visit, the final uphill drive was the part that stayed with me. My companions drove up, while I closed my eyes along the narrow approach. Once we arrived, the cool air and scenery gave us a reason to slow down. This guide brings that experience together with the resort’s published visitor information to help you plan your own trip.

Opening hours
The FAQ lists day visits from 6 a.m.–8 p.m. on weekdays, with gates closing at 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Rides run from 8 a.m. until sundown. However, the directions page gives a different arrival window of 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; confirm your intended arrival time. FAQ · Directions.
Camp Sabros zipline and ride rates
Choose your ride package before calculating your budget. You can also plan a visit around the scenery and a meal if your group does not want to take the ziplines.

These are the packages displayed on the official ride-rates page. Confirm availability and rider requirements before paying, particularly when visiting with children. The page also advertises horseback riding, but its adult-and-child pricing wording is unclear; ask for the total applicable to your group.
Sample day-trip budget for two adults
Using the admission and ride prices above, two adults taking the return cable lift would budget ₱600: ₱200 for admission and ₱400 for the ride. Choosing the All Rides package instead brings that subtotal to ₱1,400.
These calculations exclude food, transport, and any other purchases. Set those amounts aside separately so the ride price does not become your whole-trip budget.
How to get to Camp Sabros from Davao City

The resort lists its address as Sitio Barras, Barangay Kapatagan, Digos City, Davao del Sur, approximately 75 kilometres from Davao City, with a roughly two-hour drive depending on traffic. Treat that as a planning estimate and allow time for stops. Official directions.
By private vehicle

The published route goes through Digos toward the Cogon turnoff, then follows the road to Sitio Barras. The lower parking area is around 750 metres from the camp. Confirm road conditions and vehicle access before setting off. Official driving directions.
Our original article mentioned an alternative through Sta. Cruz. We have not rechecked that route, so ask the resort which approach it recommends for your vehicle and travel date.
By public transport
The official directions describe taking a bus from Davao’s Ecoland terminal to Digos, transferring by tricycle to the old terminal, and taking a van toward Camp Sabros. From the lower parking area, the published options include a roughly 20-minute walk, a motorcycle ride, or a horse ride. Confirm fares and your return transport locally. The FAQ says there is no resort shuttle, although the directions page mentions one. Arrange transport without relying on a shuttle unless the resort confirms it directly. Official FAQ.
Camp Sabros room and cottage rates
Staying overnight gives you more time to enjoy the setting without fitting the return journey into the same day. Compare both the room price and the number of guests covered when choosing accommodation.

Food and dining
The resort lists Rebel Bar & Restaurant and a convenience store among its facilities. Official facilities.
For day visitors bringing food, the FAQ lists ₱600 corkage for 1–6 people using picnic facilities, with restrictions in dining areas. Overnight guests may bring prepared food, but cooking is prohibited. Read the full policy before packing. Official food rules.
Our earlier article mentioned a ₱650 weekend brunch buffet. We have not verified that offer for this update; ask about the current menu and any buffet schedule before planning your visit around it.
What we enjoyed about Camp Sabros
The uphill approach made me nervous, but the pine trees, cool breeze, and mountain scenery were what I remembered after we settled in. When it was time to leave, I wished we had more time there.
For a mixed group, I would leave room in the itinerary for people to enjoy the setting at their own pace. There is no need to schedule every moment around an activity. A slower visit also gives you time to take photographs and sit together between plans.
Mount Apo was one of the reasons we wanted to enjoy the views. Keep expectations flexible: a mountain viewpoint does not guarantee a clear view on your chosen day.

Practical tips for a family visit
- Discuss the uphill access before leaving. Ask about the drop-off and walking requirements if someone in your group has limited mobility.
- Check ride suitability directly. Confirm the rules for each child or adult who plans to ride.
- Pack a light layer and comfortable shoes. Choose footwear you are comfortable walking in, and bring rain protection if the forecast calls for it.
- Plan your return journey early. If commuting, confirm the last available transport before going up to the resort.
- Keep the day flexible. Decide which activity matters most to your group and leave time for meals and rest.
Suggested day-trip flow
Travel from Davao in the morning, arrive within the confirmed visiting hours, and check which rides are operating. Take a walk and photos, enjoy your chosen activity, then have lunch before a relaxed afternoon and the return journey. Adjust this outline around the weather and your transport arrangements.
Can you camp in a tent?
Despite the name, the resort’s FAQ says tent pitching is not allowed. Choose a cottage for an overnight stay. Official FAQ.
