To keep our platform authentic and meaningful, we ask that all submissions follow these simple guidelines:

Be Authentic. Share real stories from your own experience. No AI-generated, plagiarized, or fictional content.

Keep It Family-Friendly. Our audience is Filipino families. Avoid profanity, hate speech, graphic content, or anything inappropriate for all ages.

Original Content Only. Your submission must be your original work. By submitting, you grant A Joyful Life permission to edit and publish it.

Photos & Files Welcome. Upload images or documents that support your story. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC, DOCX (max 10MB each).

Please read these terms carefully before submitting your story to A Joyful Life.

By submitting content (text, images, files) through this form, you confirm that you are the original creator and sole owner of the submitted material. You grant A Joyful Life a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, edit, publish, and distribute your submission on our website, social media platforms, email newsletters, and related marketing materials.

2. Editorial Rights

A Joyful Life reserves the right to:

  • Edit submissions for grammar, clarity, length, and formatting
  • Add editorial context, headlines, or images to complement your story
  • Decline to publish any submission at our sole discretion
  • Remove previously published content if it no longer aligns with our editorial standards

3. Content Standards

All submissions must be:

  • Truthful, authentic, and based on real personal experience
  • Family-friendly and appropriate for all ages
  • Free from hate speech, profanity, discriminatory language, or harmful content
  • Not promoting illegal activities, scams, or misleading claims

4. Privacy & Personal Information

We collect your name and email address solely for the purpose of reviewing and responding to your submission. Your email will not be publicly displayed or sold to third parties. By providing your email, you consent to receiving correspondence from A Joyful Life regarding your submission at smile@ajoyfull.life.

5. File Uploads

Uploaded images and documents must be files you own or have explicit permission to share. A Joyful Life is not responsible for copyright violations resulting from submitted files. Maximum file size is 10MB per file. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC, DOCX.

6. No Guaranteed Publication

Submission of a story does not guarantee publication. Our editorial team reviews every submission and selects stories that align with our mission of celebrating intentional living, faith, family, and community in Davao City and beyond.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold A Joyful Life harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your submitted content, including but not limited to copyright infringement, defamation, or privacy violations.

We welcome a wide range of authentic content: personal reflections on family life, marriage, motherhood, or fatherhood; faith journeys and devotionals; simple living tips; local business or place recommendations; and community shoutouts for people or organizations making a difference in Davao City and beyond. If it's real and it can bless a family, we want to hear it.
Is there a fee to submit or get published? +
No, story submissions are completely free. A Joyful Life is a community-driven platform. We do not charge contributors for submitting or publishing authentic stories. However, sponsored features for businesses may follow a different process — please visit our Work With Us page for business partnerships.
How long before my story gets published? +
Once you submit your story, our editorial team reviews it within 3 to 5 business days. If approved, we'll notify you via email before publishing. Some stories may require light editing, and we'll keep you in the loop throughout the process.
Can I upload photos or files with my story? +
Yes! We encourage you to attach relevant photos, written drafts, or supporting documents. Accepted formats include JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC, and DOCX with a maximum file size of 10MB per file. Please make sure you own or have permission to share any images you upload.
Will my email or personal information be shared publicly? +
Absolutely not. Your email address is collected solely for communication about your submission. It will never be published on the website, sold, or shared with third parties. Your published story will only include the name you provide (or a pen name if you prefer — just let us know).
Can I request to remain anonymous? +
Yes, you can. Simply mention in your story submission that you'd like to be published anonymously or under a pen name. We'll respect your preference and ensure your privacy is protected.
What happens after I submit my story? +
After you hit submit, here's what to expect:
  • Confirmation: You'll see a success message confirming your submission was received.

Can I edit or retract my story after submission? +
If you need to edit or withdraw your submission, simply email us at smile@ajoyfull.life with your request. If your story has already been published, we'll work with you to make edits or remove it as needed.
